Do my computers need servicing?
If you've had your computer in place for more than 6 months, then you have the need for servicing.  Dust and moisture are a deadly combination for your computer and it's sensitive electronic parts.  The only thing preventing your computer's expensive processor from heat related damage is a small heat sink/fan unit mounted on it.  If you're computer has been locking up under heavy loads you may have excessive dust build up.

How often should I backup?
That's a relatively easy question to answer.  The frequency with which you back up should be determined by the frequency with which you create or modify files.  As a general rule, a small office with 5 people generating documents should run daily "incremental" backups and a full backup weekly.

Probably the simplest way to do backups is to keep all files on a dedicated file server and then run an automated tape backup software package to execute the backups at night.  Then simply change tapes each day to ensure that you're protected.
